Cleaning For Hopeful Hearts

We provide free, no-obligation house cleaning services to families struggling with infertility.

Roughly 1 in 6 people are affected by infertility. That includes us.

We know first hand the emotional, mental, physical and financial toll an infertility diagnosis and treatments can take on growing-families-to-be.

Life becomes infinitely more stressful. Normal days and weeks can be hard enough, add in countless appointments, treatments, testing and more. It’s an emotional roller coaster. Your time and energy get drained, and it’s worth it.

Our Fertility Story

We started trying to grow our family in 2013 after we got married.  We were ready. And, like many others, we assumed it would just happen. But that wouldn’t be our story.

Beginning in 2014, after a very early miscarriage, we enlisted the help of our first fertility clinic. Went through all the rigorous testing and the results were 3 rounds of unsuccessful IUI.

We were bummed, but still hopeful. The doctors kept saying our labs didn’t indicate any reason why we couldn’t conceive together.

The next step was IVF.

This wasn’t our plan, and a major expense we hadn’t accounted for, but having kids was our dream so we figured it out and pressed forward. Little did we know the next several years would be more of a nightmare.

4 retrievals. 10 embryo transfers. 10s of thousands of dollars. 5 years. No babies. No answers.

That put us in the 15%-30% of couples with idiopathic (unexplained) infertility. We were knocked down. Emotionally devastated. And on the verge of giving up.

If it weren’t for our support network, we probably would have. We were determined to NOT have our story end like this. Dannie believes that you only lose when you give up. And we had more fight in us.

So, we decided to change clinics. We had a consultation with Dr. Sasson at Shady Grove Fertility. He kept it real with us. Told us we were definitely a “tough case,” but one he was determined to figure out.

His candor, expertise, and detailed plan that was different from what we had tried before rekindled the hope that had waned over the last few years.

Next came more testing, another retrieval, even more testing, 2 more failed embryo transfers and then – a heartbeat.

At the same time in 2020 COVID hit, and the world shut down. We spent the rest of the year stuck at home but feeling like the luckiest two people in the world.

Our first miracle baby arrived later that year.

You would think that was enough. Nope. We decided to go for number two, knowing that with our history, our family might always be just the three of us. And, it started to seem that way when we attempted another retrieval cycle and got no viable embryos to show for it.

Dr. Sasson asked us to trust him again, so we started planning for yet another retrieval… and just as we were about to buy the boxload of medications, we got the surprise of our lifetimes – our second miracle decided to show up spontaneously – and in 2023, we became a family of four!

Our hearts are full and forever changed by our journey.
